Import Taxes & Customs Policy

Understand possible charges when orders cross an international border

Last updated: 27 October 2026

Important for international orders: our current checkout displays the product price and shipping price. It does not collect destination import VAT, customs duties or carrier clearance/handling charges. Unless your checkout or order confirmation specifically says that these charges are prepaid, you may be asked to pay them before delivery.

Orders delivered within the United Kingdom

For an order dispatched from within the UK and delivered to a UK address, import charges generally do not arise on that domestic movement. The shipping charge displayed at checkout still applies.

Orders delivered outside the United Kingdom

When a parcel enters another country or customs territory, the recipient may be responsible for import VAT, customs duty, local taxes and postal or courier administration/clearance fees. Whether a charge applies and how much it is depend on the destination, the product classification and origin, the declared value, the shipment and the rules in force when it arrives.

These charges are set by the relevant authorities or carrier, not by AEC4KIDS LTD, and are separate from the shipping price shown on this website. They are not included in our checkout total unless we expressly state otherwise. You should check your local customs or tax authority before ordering if you need to know the likely charges.

EU destinations

EU countries apply their own import procedures alongside EU-wide customs and VAT rules. EU customs rules changed on 1 July 2026 to introduce a temporary customs duty for certain low-value consignments imported from outside the EU. The exact charge and collection process depend on the shipment and the rules applicable when it is processed. Import VAT and carrier handling fees may also apply.

For official guidance, see the European Commission guidance on the temporary low-value import duty and the relevant destination country's customs authority.

Refusing a parcel or unpaid charges

If you do not pay charges required by the destination authority or carrier, the parcel may be delayed, held, returned or abandoned. Please contact us before refusing a parcel so we can discuss the available options. Any refund or deduction will be handled in accordance with applicable consumer law; this policy does not automatically waive any statutory rights you may have.

Accurate customs declarations

We will provide accurate shipment information based on the order and the information reasonably available to us. Please provide a complete and accurate delivery address and any information reasonably required to ship the order.
